StellaMira 80mm ED

A beautiful telescope. Unexpectedly, the Sky Gods were in a good mood and created some holes in the clouds; I had the opportunity to use it on the day of arrival. The StellaMira is a pleasure to use, high quality optics which deliver that 'refractor magic' . . . the almost 3D effect of diamond stars on black velvet. Jupiter was a superb sight - crystal clear with excellent contrast. The quick 'test flight' turned into several hours, stopping only when there was a Sky God mood change. Sitting on a solid alt-az mount the StellaMira will now be my preferred portable kit. Given the build and optical quality of this telescope, the cost is very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Quality refractor

Stunning scope for the money. Workmanship is excellent throughout. R&P focuser is smooth and exact, handle is a nice touch, and case is rugged. Optics are tack sharp, just need to do the Sirius 200x test for my own gratification. I love long focal length refractors and this one is a keeper.

Another piece of flo magic this is the best built scope I've seen in years not since the William optics megrez have I seen a scope so well made I would say even better and the glass combination so sharp crisp the stars are on fire pricks in a sea of black the planets sharp and alive the moon is like a new level of wonder big up to the flo

A stunning visual scope
20 November 2020  |

I've had this refractor since June and I still love it. In particular the views of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon are stunning through this, superbly crisp, contrasty and rich in colour. Double stars are excellent, like saturated points of colour. It also gives beautiful wide field views and brings out the best in an eyepiece I've used with it.

It is also solidly engineered and oozes quality. The focuser is a smooth rack and pinion, with fine 1:10 adjustment and everything is CNC machined to a very high standard. It's not light, but very easily mountable and has a very useful handle built onto the tube rings.

Finally, it looks amazing too in it's shiny piano black and red colour scheme. It sits in my office, ready to go on a lightweight Alt/Az mount. I have other scopes, but this is the one I use as my primary grab and go scope.

Thoroughly recommended

Having thoroughly tested this scope, bought recently, and looked at the Moon and star clusters, I can confirm that the views through this instrument are indeed stunning. Well done FLO for introducing this new range.
