The FC-100DL fluorite apochromat is the latest addition to Takahashi's lightweight FC line of telescopes.

Available from a small production run, once they have sold the telescope will be discontinued. 

Utilizing a Steinheil design, the objective places the fluorite element at the back of the f/9 optical tube and with a 900mm focal length, the observer can view both terrestrial and deep sky objects objects at high magnification with colour free views.

At F9 this telescope will be ideal for the discriminating solar system observer who wants the highest possible quality from an ultra light weight telescope.

Features a 2.5" rack and pinion focuser equipped with a bespoke Takahashi tube clamp.

Possibly the best 100mm doublet refractor ever!

I use this telescope at its native F9 900mm and with a Q1.6x extender made for it by Takahashi at F14.4 1440mm fcoal length.

Only results matter. This model gives a bright view and clarity of image that some makes of 120mm refractors only equal. Compared to other 100cc F9 telescopes, the Takahashi has better light transmission and contrast, which become more apparent depending on object viewed and magnification used.

I bought a DL 900mm because I need to use higher eye relief, longer focal length eyepieces, but wish for highish magnifications.
