The Takahashi FS-60CB is a remarkably compact refractor with exceptional optics and superb mechanical design.
Image sharpness and contrast is excellent for visual observations as well as astro and terrestrial photography.

Apochromatic objective with Fluorite doublet
The 60mm f5.9 doublet objective with a fluorite element performs as well as some other refractors with a larger diameter. High optical quality combined with short focal length (355mm) makes the FS60CB an excellent choice for portable astrophotography.
Rack & Pinion Focuser
The Rack & Pinion focuser has been designed with imaging in mind. Sturdy and precise with a focus-lock that maintains focus wherever the telescope is pointing.
Versatility
An optically-matched 0.72x Reducer is available that reduces the f-ratio from f5.9 to f4.26 and provides a large 44mm imaging circle - large enough for full-frame sensors.
An optically matched flattener is also available that changes the f-ratio to f/6.2 and provides a 38mm, 90% illuminated image circle.
Performance
The spot-diagrams of the FS-60CB show excellent chromatic correction at prime focus, including up to 14mm off-axis. A dedicated flattener is available for wide-field astrophotography that can be used with most DSLR or dedicated imaging cameras.

Compact, Takahashi Quality, Grab & Go 13 October 2023 | Peter
A great little refractor from Takahashi. Compact, grab & go perfect. I have only used the FS-60CB visually and found it produces contrasty images that are almost colour free. The 355mm focal length produces a useful range of magnifications of 10 to 100X with quality EP's. The focuser is pure Takahashi and is a pleasure to use. Overall it's a little stiff but this works well with heavier EP's. The scope can be used for astro-photography but requires quite a few add on bits to make it work. This is quite a sizeable investment as most Takahashi things tend to be. Probably my favourite refractor around 60mm. If you want quality, it's hard to beat this little scope.

There are plenty of reviews online for this, and indeed pretty much every other Takahashi telescope, which are, at first sight, full of superlatives. I read them, and I though they must be exaggerating. But honestly, it is difficult to overstate just how surprisingly good this little scope is. First of all, there are the obvious downsides; price - yes, it's expensive. The focus travel is almost as time as the scope, so you *will* get used to all of those adapters to tune the backfocus. And there's a Tak way of doing things which often doesn't lend itself easily to third party (AKA cheaper) alternative options for accessories and adapters. But, what you get is an incredibly capable scope that feels far more capable than it should be. It's easy to travel with, weighs very little, and in my experience will readily outperform many larger rivals.
I'm a majority visual observer, and the FS-60 will give you stunning wide-field views. You can push the magnification hard, and still get really great views, so I also use this for lunar and solar observing, and have managed some of the smaller M objects with relative ease.
Will it do everything? No. Is it the best scope ever produced. No. Is it worth it? Absolutely.
