This is my first ever optical finderscope, I always end up buying red dot finders, in my opinion the best tool for the job, but they have a couple of disadvantages, some aren't bright enough in daylight which makes setting them up tricky, and their biggest drawback for me is whenever you want to do some observing, the battery always seem to be flat, and at that, an obscure size button battery that you don't have in the house. I personally wouldn't have bought this if it hadn't come as part of the accessory package for my new scope, I would have bought another red dot finder, and wow would I have missed out. The finder itself is beautiful quality, but as I'm just discovering , everything Takahashi make is of a very very high standard, but it doesn't just look the part it is an absolute pleasure to look through, this has certainly opened my eyes to optical finders, I don't think this will be the last I will buy. Pricey but worth every penny.
