Model: tv_ep_delite_9mmPart Number: EDE-09.0
Concept: Just as Delos eyepieces were developed based on Tele Vue's Ethos eyepiece design advancements, DeLite is the logical step toward a smaller, more economical and lightweight version of Delos. The 62° apparent field DeLite retains the pure optical quality of Delos along with 20mm eye-relief, unique sliding, locking eyeguard, and is Dioptrx-ready.
All models have 1¼" barrels and are parfocal with Tele Vue's 1¼" Plössl, Panoptic, Nagler, and Delos eyepieces. Named DeLite because that best describes the viewing experience, the name also recognises designer Paul Dellechiaie's work. The DeLite series is a delightful addition to Tele Vue's visionary line of eyepiece developments.
I have so far an 18.2 & a 15mm Delite. 11mm soon. These eyepieces are for me Tele Vue's best range. Good exit pupil behaviour and sufficient eye relief to use wearing glasses. Bright sharp and excellent contrast, They are compact enough to be good for bino viewing.Delites are Tele Vue's redemption following their disappointing & now discontinued Radian range.
I have recently bought the 18.5 and 5 mm eyepieces from this series. I must say I have been very impressed by them. On examining then they just ooze quality of build. I have managed a couple of sessions with them in my SWED 120 and the views have been spectacular. Pin point stars and fantastic details shown on the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn. Comet neowise was a magnificent sight. Over the next few months I intend to buy a few more . What better recommendation can I give ?
I bought this 7mm eyepiece to extend the range of the 25mm and 10mm ones that came with my Explorer 200P telescope. TeleVue had good reviews so I wanted to see if this was a good brand to upgrade to. It oozes quality as you take it out of the box, and it's weightier than the supplied eyepieces without being too heavy. It gave me a good view of Venus, the craters of the moon look stunning, and it gave a clearer separation of a double star than my 10mm with a 2X Barlow. I'm impressed, and I may buy another from the range later on, as there seems little point in skimping on the quality of the optics.
This is a beautiful eyepiece. I received good advice from Martin at FLO on the focal length I should choose for use with my Skywatcher Esprit 120 mm refractor (840 mm focal length so magnification = x168, i.e. ~2/3 of the 'theoretical' maximum of x240). I've been using the eyepiece for lunar observations for several months now and the views are very crisp. I found the eye relief adjustment a bit 'fiddly' to begin with but have got used to it and with the fold down rubber eyeguard and grip rings I can get it nicely adjusted.
I bought this EP via a recommendation from a SGL member when I was looking for a good planetary and lunar eyepiece for my Skywatcher Esprit Pro 100. After unboxing I was hit straight away by the quality of the item. The finish of the machining and coatings are excellent. The sliding and locking eyeguard adjustment is as smooth as silk and the filter thread is smooth also. The endcaps fit very well too.I was lucky enough to be able to use this very soon after buying it and the views of the moons craters was a revelation. I had never seen such detail before and very sharp. It is very easy to set the correct eye relief and keep it locked ready for another use.Very impressed so will see how many others I can add to the set!
