Tele Vue 67mm Converter for 55mm Plössl
This converts the Tele Vue 55mm Plössl eyepiece to a 67mm focal length and reduces the apparent field of view from 50° to 40° to exactly match the 40° field of the NVD objective. That’s a field increase of 20%! Equally important as seeing the entire field available from the 2" eyepiece format, the larger exit pupil of the 67mm focal length provides more light to be amplified. The 55mm Plössl requires more drawtube out travel than most eyepieces and the 67mm attachment moves the focus out by another 1” (25mm) from nominal. Therefore, we recommend purchase of the 2” Extension Tube (X2C-0008) for your telescope when purchasing this attachment. When using the converted 55mm Plössl on a Paracorr Type-2, use the 'H' setting on the Paracorr (do not use EBX-2120 barrel extender with the 67mm Converted Plössl, as it doesn't have sufficient extension for use with Paracorr).

Increases what you can see when the Plossl is attached to a PVS-14 Night Vision Device 06 August 2020 | Alan
The 67mm lens screws down inside the top of the standard 55mm Plossl and is installed in seconds. As the description says it acts as a focal reducer and increases the effective light through the eyepiece by 20%. Initial tests with my Borg 107FL have showed a vastly improved amount of night sky detail available through my PVS-14 Night Vision Device as well as a brighter image. (Night Vision devices have a 20mm objective lens so if your pair the new 67mm eyepiece with a fast focal ratio scope then it is possible to get the exit pupil up towards the full objective input available with the Night Vision Device.)
