Most useful all-round filter in the box, excels on binoculars and smaller aperture telescopes. 15 January 2021 | Robert
All filters are a compromise of some sort, but the Nebustar is a brilliant all-around filter that gives OIII and Hb filters a run for the money on many targets, especially in binoculars or smaller aperture telescopes. With the Nebustar under dark skies, I've seen the Horsehead in a large dobsonian and with binoculars, the California Nebula, the Rosette and the Veil with ease. The North America Nebula and Pelican with the Nebustar on binoculars is a sight to behold under even moderately dark skies. Superb light transmission that provides a brighter, more natural view than any other filters I've tried. I've basically stopped using my Astronomik UHC now (still a fine filter but I don't miss the red star bloat), unless it's paired up with the Nebustar on my binoculars. Hard to go wrong with this one.
