TeleGizmos Solar Scope Covers are warranted for one year from date of purchase including all labor and material. If your cover fails due to either a manufacturing or material defect, TeleGizmos will repair or replace the cover during this warranty period. Proof of purchase required. This warranty is fully transferable. This warranty does not include coverage of normal wear and tear.

TeleGizmos Scope Cover for 5" f/8-9 Refractors.

Mid-Size/Large GEM Mounted up to 114cm / 45" tube length

Manufactured using a multi-layer, polyethylene material with a fully Aluminised surface. The heat reflective ability of the cover is extremely high with a material strength equal to a multi-layer light weight tarp.

The material was originally developed for NASA as an insulator in spacecraft. It is very strong, light, tear and puncture resistant and is highly superior to Mylar in durability.

It's OK and does the job but you pay for the shiny surface. BBQ covers don't look as good but do a similar job at a much lower price.

A bit disappointed

I realise the product description says this cover is only for occasional use, but I was a little disappointed with the material and quality of stitching. The material feels quite thin and that it could be easily damaged in normal use. More importantly, if one puts the cover over your head to check for holes, in a few places you can see daylight through tiny holes along the stitching. At the end of one run of stitching there is a 1-2mm hole that may let water in. Time will tell whether this is the case. For the price paid this is disappointing.

You have purchased TeleGizmo's budget cover (they also offer a stronger more expensive version) but we are confident when you have had an opportunity to actually use it you will be surprised at how tough it is :-)
If not, then you are welcome to return it for replacement or refund.
