Brilliant Kit
27 August 2021  |

Received this ST-80 and AZ3 yesterday. Setup was easy and straight-forward, having studied the instructions. The build-quality of the kit is fabulous, it feels robust yet precision-made. Good quality eye-piees are included.

Blessed with clear skies last night. I am in a city-centre location with significant light pollution (street lights, nearby security lights, nieghbours house lights and so on). Nevertheless, we were excited to see Jupiter and several of its moons, as well as Saturn. The objects are small, as you would expect from an 80mm scope, but clearly visible. Amazing. I'm hooked. Much better than binoculars (even on a tripod).

Prompt and efficient service from FLO promptly and helpfully answering several requests for clarification before purchase.

Skywatcher Startravel 80 AZ3
03 March 2021  |

Very nice piece of kit. Being interested, but totally new to the area of astrology, we took part in a video link conference on an ‘introductory to stargazing’ with an established British astronomer. Who, recommended this telescope for beginners. And through further discussion with Alex (at FLO), we decided to purchase this particular telescope.

The scope itself appears extremely well made and robust and comes with red dot finder scope, 12.5mm & 26mm Plossl eye piece as well as a x2 Barlow lens. The tripod is also of very sturdy construction. Setting up was relatively easy (even for non competent diy’ers).

Once setup, it did take a bit of time playing about to getting used to. But persevere, the results are are quite outstanding.

Very pleased with this telescope overall. And the assistance from Alex at FLO was first rate.

Fantastic little scope, buy with confidence!
07 August 2020  |

The Skywatcher ST80 is a great little scope, i bought one as dragging a 250pp dob on holiday isn't really practical. Well made and an excellent tripod with virtually no wobble. Eyepieces are better than I would expect as a stock ones. My First scope was a 130eq celestron with equatorial mount - I would have done myself a favour if i would have bought this one first as its so easy to use a set up and use. Great views of Jupiter and moons and Saturn and rings.

I rarely write reviews and really the reason for doing this one is to compliment FLO - fantastic company to deal with at every level. Great advise and customer service, you can buy with confidence, the best place to buy astronomy kit in the UK.

Startravel 80mm
10 January 2018  |

Ordered this on the Monday, came on the Wednesday - easily tracked the item too.
The telescope was double boxed and very well packed which was great to see.
I was surprised how heavy duty the tripod was - it really does seem impressive , really nice and solid too. The scope itself is much bigger than I thought it was going to be which was also a nice surprise. Nice set of instructions - apart from the lack of information about the altitude bolt for the az3 mount (which, by the way you have to loosen a tiny tiny amount - just enough for the mount to be moved) The two eyepieces are two great plossls and give nice crisp widefield views. All in all a real nice starter setup with everything you need - much more fun than binoculars and an amazing price.
