Takahashi FOA-60Q f/15 Doublet Fluorite Apochromat Refractor, supplied with 1.7x Extender

The FOA-60 is a traditional Japanese-made long focal-ratio telescope fitted with ultra-high quality optics and manufactured to a very high standard.

The telescope's native focal length is 530mm / f8.8 but when fitted with Takahashi's optically-matched 1.7x extender the focal length is increased to 901mm / f15.

At it's native f8.8 the Strehl ratio is in excess of 96%, which is impressive. When used at f15 with the 1.7x extender fitted, this increases to a near-perfect 99%!

The spacing of the doublet elements is such that correction of spherical abberations is similar to that found in Takahashi's much larger TOA series.

For astrophotography, when fitted with the 1.7x extender the imaging circle is an impressive 44mm so suitable for use with full-frame DSLR cameras. An optional 0.93x flattener is available.

The package version includes Tube Holder, 6x30 Finderscope and Bracket.
