Strong enough to handle a Skymax 127 AZ Virtuoso GTI.

The title says it all. It is well made and absolutely needed no modification to fit. Of course excellent service from FLO.

I have a Skwatcher EQM35Pro mount and recently purchased an AZ-GTi mount for quick setup and portability. Not wanting to buy yet more 3/8" tripods I looked for an adaptor. From reading online reviews, it seems that the more expensive Berlebach adaptor does not fit over the N pole lug on Skywatcher steel tripods without the need for modification. I ordered this adaptor in the hope that it would work without having to file out the slot. I was very pleased to find that it fitted straight out of the box. I now have a sturdy tripod for use with the AZ-GTi mount.

Just received this adapter from FLO and it works perfectly with my Explore Scientific PMC8 tripod mount aka Vixen GP 2" tripod. Now have a nice stable base for my Skywatcher AZ-GTi mount using the extension pillar too. Highly recommended at a very competitive price compared to the other branded equivalents on the market. The whole adapter/chuck is a solid and weighty element - just what you need to create as stable a base as possible.

Recommended works well, a little bit expensive, but thats what you get with anything marked ASTRO on the box

Allows me to put my SkyGuider Pro / RedCat 51 setup onto a really decent mount.

Well made and a perfect fit on my mount which has a cast locating lug. Allows the use of the sturdy tripod for other set ups including using a 3/8 ball head and DSLR, really useful bit of kit.

This adapter is great! I have just used it to allow use of a 3/8 Manfrotto Video head on my EQ5/HEQ5 Tripod. I will use this set-up for my heavy APM Astro binoculars.
Now, the cast/welded Azimuth pin/peg on the tripod is too wide at its base to accommodate this adapter, as previous reviews noted. HOWEVER, you don’t need to file anything. Just get the 16inch EQ5/HEQ5 Extension tube. This tube has a narrower metal azimuth pin/peg at the top which accommodates the adapter, no problem. The base of the extension tube fits over the cast/welded azimuth pin/peg on the tripod,no problem.
I now have a solid Bino tripod instead of a rickety photo tripod.
Job done.
