At its price, the ASI224MC is the BEST colour planetary imaging camera available!
Peak QE of 75% (better than the ICX618) and no fixed pattern noise!
This combination of high sensitivity and very, very low read noise makes the ASI224MC a hugely successful camera (read noise is the primary source of noise in planetary imaging).
The IMX224 sensor is also very sensitive to infrared, so can be used for infrared imaging with great success. Sharp lunar images in infrared are also achievable - the infrared image won't have natural colours, but after stacking, you can convert the image to grayscale for a more natural look. To maximise the sensor's IR performance, the protective anti-reflection cover glass does not include UV/IR cut, but a separate UV/IR cut filter can be obtained and fitted for colour imaging.
This camera can also be used for solar imaging, though when used with a solar telescope, image quality may not be as good as that achieved with a mono sensor.
The ASI224MC can even be used for Deep-Sky imaging!
Supports 30FPS at its maximum 1280x960 resolution and long exposures up to 1000s.
It has an ST4 guide port, so can also be used as a guide camera.
Includes a 150-degree wide lens, so you don't need even a telescope to start imaging the stars!

Can’t comment on the camera as I’ve not used it yet but I purchased it to start up my new EAA rig with the Startravel 102. Great turn around by FLO over the bank holiday and impressed they printed off my special delivery information for the postman. Thanks FLO

I recently bought this camera and initial thoughts are that it works great for planetary pics and even got some reasonable nebula photos too.
FLO provided brilliant service at a good price so would highly recommend.

Great resolution and pretty straightforward BUT!!!
I use an APM 107/700 without focal reducer or anything for Deep sky imaging with a Cannon EOS and focus position is around 92mm extension.
Total extension is at 110mm ish and not far enough to get focus with the 224, I bought a 50mm extension tube and it still didn't quite get focus unless the tube is pulled out slightly. The solution was to use the star diagonal that I have had kicking around for ages and BOOM!!!! There it is spot on stunning resolution and crystal clear images. Bit of messing around but we'll worth it.

Due to the weather l have only used the camera once and am very impressed. The only capture file l have used is Sharp Cap 4 as l was having issues with FireCapture. It was producing views and captured images in black & white. Since going on the web l have now resolved this issue so cannot wait for the weather to improve. Going back to the camera, comparing it to my Imaging Source camera l find the images sharper with more contrast.

I'm new to planetary imaging so didn't want to spend a great deal on a camera only to find that i'm terrible at. Well first time out with this i was able to capture some decent video and produce a nice image of Jupiter right off the bat. Super easy to setup, install drivers (windows 10) connect camera, find planet (the tricky bit), focus, adjust exposure and capture... job done! Quality build with all the cables and a wide angle lens attachment for normal viewing. Great camera! Excellent service from FLO.

Still in the early and beginner stages with astrophotograhy but great quality and appears to work well enough to provide the necessary base as a learning tool. No doubt will last me well untill i can afford a " better" (and more suitable) deep sky camera.

Como es de esperarse el servicio de FLO es espectacular, tardaron menos de una semana en entregarme la cámara desde UK hasta México, de hecho tardan mas las compras hechas en USA . La cámara llegó en perfecto estado y ya he hecho algunas pruebas con ella, el desempeño es asombroso.
Gracias de nuevo, debo decir que FLO es por mucho la mejor tienda de astronomía!

A really great camera. I’m using it for auto guiding with PHD2. This replaced a earlier ZWO USB2 camera that was unhappy using a USB3 laptop so I upgraded to the 224. Very sensitive it works beautifully always picking up numerous stars. First Light delivered within a couple of days in their usual excellent way. I am one very happy customer!

I had this a week ago and took a few videos of the moon to stack, amazing and very simple to use. Can wait for planets to come back in favourable position.
Build quality is very nice and quite lightweight.
