One might think the price is a little steep for a metal bar but this one is beautifully machined and fits snug and tight into my AM3. Very satisfying and will last much longer than me.

I needed the AM5 counterweight bar to assist in safely supporting and using my Esprit 120 and accessories on my AM5. Weighing in at approximately 14.5Kgs the counterweight bar was definitely needed to support the weight for safe operation of the AM5. In addition to the 5Kgs on the counterweight bar, I use a 10Kgs kettle bell to help stabilise the whole rig. Highly recommend the bar if using a telescope in excess of 13Kgs. Great service from FLO and fast delivery.

First off, the bar diameter has been precision ground to size, all the edges are neatly chamfered and the screw threads are smooth with no hint of raggedness. If ZWO put this amount of care and quality into a simple bar then I have a lot of faith in there other products.

The weight of my setup is on the cusp for requiring counterweights. Used with a spare HEQ5 counterweight (5kg) but needed to remove counterweights' rubber bushing to fit shaft (it would be useful if counterweight descriptions included their hole diameter to help selection).
