Askar Backfocus Adjuster
For many astro imaging applications, the back focus distance to the imaging sensor can be critical to achieve the best image quality.
Astroimagers are often frustrated by changes to the back focus distance for reasons such as the introduction of filters, small specification deviations in the thickness of adapters, etc.
Askar has introduced the Back Focus Adjuster Adapter to solve this problem.
The Back Focus Adapter has an adjustment range of 16mm to 20mm (+/- 2mm) and offers two different specifications.
- M54 Telescope Side and M54x.75 Camera Side
- M54 Telescope Side and M48x.75 Camera Side
The overall thickness is 18mm with +/-2mm adjustment range.
The Backfocus Adjuster is CNC machined, and each unit achieves 0.05mm or adjustment precision.
The surface is printed with a scale for easy adjustment. In addition, there are two.

Was looking for a solution to get the spacing correct when using a DB filter / ZWO 2600 DUO / reducer. Considered using Baader spacing rings however wanted to be able to dial the spacing in (exactly) and also get some flexibility when using a filter or with the filter out of the imaging train.
Long story short, this item works really well. Nicely machined, exact adjustment and just feels well thought out.
Went for the m54 size and this pairs perfectly with a ZWO 2600 Duo.
