TS M48 variable adapters are used to achieve optimal spacing with M48 threaded reducers and flatteners. 

This variable extension enables you to achieve the correct back focus distance to within a fraction of a millimeter. 

The minimum length is 17 mm, the maximum length is 23 mm.




TS Optics - variable T2 extension Explo

The sleeve consists of three parts (from left to right):

- Base part with long M48 external thread
- narrow counter ring with knurled handle
- connection part with M48 internal thread and M48 connection

Simply twist the connection part until the adapter has reached the desired length and then lock in the position with the counter ring.

Handy little Adapter

I have been trying to sort out backfocus on my 80mm + 1x Flattener. NINA is very useful with the Aberration Inspector to quickly see the field.
Getting and changing spacers and shims is OK but gets tedious.
This adapter is wonderful. First a rough calculation for the fixed spacers, based on setting this variable spacer in mid travel. Then half a turn at a time, refocus, look at NINA and I quickly found the sweet spot.
Nicely made. Locks solid with the ring.
