This cable is much stronger than the free ones that came with my camera.

I used this to replace the 2M ZWO camera lead that came with the camera. Works perfectly, no challenges, perfect 👍

Stiff cables so choose the right size!
Tuesday, 25 January 2022  |

I've got a couple of different cables from the CROMO lineup which I've used with various pieces of ZWO equipment (ASI533, ASI120MM, ASI290MM, EAF) and they have all worked perfectly fine, fit into the USB ports nice and securely without any reliability concerns. They come in a variety of sizes which give you flexibility in choosing the right cable length for your application.

I have a 120mm refractor and my ASI Air sits in a vixen finder shoe on the focus drawtube, which is connected to my ASI533 camera via a 1m CROMO cable. Unfortunately, 1m is too long for my setup but 0.5m is too short, so I went for the 1m length instead. When I try to bundle cables together for better cable management I found that the stiffness of the cable was exerting pressure on the USB ports of my devices. This resulted in me removing the cable tidy and leaving each cable hang independently of each other. This produces more opportunities for snagging or catching on things but if you're careful enough, you can mitigate this slightly (I loop my cable around and velcro tie the loop to my camera).

It would be great if they used a more flexible outer cladding to prevent undue stress on USB ports.

Quality USB Cable

Does what a USB cable should do, good over 5m. Looks good, yet to see itperform in the cold of winter at the 'scope.

Does the job.

Tested in use - works well and seems robust. The cable isn't too stiff either which a good thing when tethering it to the mount.
