Just picked this up from FLO and did a terrestrial comparison with my Sky-Watcher Di-electric Star Diagonal which is very good. Used both the Skymax Mak 127 and a William Zenithstar 73 in the test. Little difference in contrast and performance in the two, maybe the star diagonal is a tad sharper but it's mirrors v prisms, so..... Interesting review in the link below with WO diagonal which I've owned. I sold the WO only due to the helical focusser not working well when rotating a Baader zoom to change the magnifications. The Zenithstar has fine dual focussing and didn't need it.

I bought this for my daughter to replace the el cheapo plastic bodied item that came with her Celestron Starsense 102mm refractor and wanted an erecting prism so as to not confuse her at this early stage! The StellaMira item is superb, really well made and solid, noticeably brighter than the stock item too. Very pleased overall and superb service from FLO.

As someone new to astronomy I found the left/right reversed view in a star diagonal too much to cope with. This makes it much easier and is just the same as you see with the naked eye. I cannot tell if it transmits slightly less light than a good star diagonal, but, if it does, for me its worth it. I highly recommend it for other beginners or experienced observers who like an easy life. Appears to be solidly made and high quality.
