Low Price; Great Results

For such a low priced filter, I was surprised by the results. Got to use it on my 120 mm achromatic refractor when the moon was high before daybreak. Stops you feeling like you are staring directly into a torch and keeps the colours looking natural. Screws easily and securely to the eyepiece thread, too, and doesn't feel cheap.

At 100x magnification I got some wonderful views of craters at the terminator and in some other spots. Considering the moon had been full a few nights before, this filter made viewing very comfortable.

Though it may not give a noticeable boost in contrast, it performs admirably for the price, and I can definitely recommend this to other beginning astronomers on a budget, if you are happy with essentially just reducing the glare so you gaze at the moon's natural majesty.

Very happy I bought one

Even with binos the moon, especially a full moon is too bight to look at for long, which is a shame because it's fascinating. Well, not anymore. This little filter cuts out the eye watering brightness but does nothing to diminish the view, in fact it seems to enhance the craters and their shadows.

Sunglasses for Stargazing

No need to buy anything more expensive, this little filter does a great job at minimizing the glare from the moon (and other bright objects like Saturn and Jupiter). Seems to darken moon images the perfect amount, not too dark to lose any features but definately dark enough to make viewing much more friendly to your eyes.

Does what it says on the tin, this dramatically improves the detail that you can see on the moon's surface.
