About this product
Model: tv_no_101_is
Part Number: NPI-4057
TeleVue's NP101is Refracting Telescope retains its predecessor's exemplary wide field and planetary visual capability while adding new features to make imaging easier and more flexible.
The updated 4-element optical design has a larger rear lens group to minimise vignetting in sensor formats up to 50mm diagonal.
For these large sensors, an optional field corrector was developed so that the corners of the newly brightened edges would be almost as perfect as the centre of the field.
The focuser has also been updated with a larger draw-tube, 3" front aperture and 2.4" rear aperture to minimise any restriction of the larger converging light cone. The new draw-tube also permits quick changing from visual to imaging and enables full camera rotation without focus change. Four lock screws tighten against a taper on the 'imaging insert' ring, which helps maintain squareness to the optical axis when changing camera orientation.
The new Focusmate 10:1 planetary ball type reduction focuser (designed and manufactured by Starlight Instruments) provides extremely sensitive focus adjustment, measurable with the optional Digital Micrometer Kit, to better than 1/10,000" for ultra-precise focus adjustment.
Electronic motor control is also possible using the optional Focusmate Driver with adjustable speed and push-buttons for direction. One simple tap of the button permits vibration-free focusing steps as small as approximately 0.0005". Focus can also be remotely computer-controlled with the optional Focusmaster Computer Interface.
