Discovering Double Stars II by Agnes Clarke

This book is for stargazers living in the glare of urban sprawls, where all but the brightest stars are lost to light pollution.  Discovering Double Stars II is thoroughly revised and updated, extending coverage from 300 double stars in the first edition to 950 in this latest edition.

The level of data on each double star system has been greatly extended and the usability of the book has been enhanced, with far less page-flipping in the dark and easy star-hopping with your finder scope to each double. All doubles in this book are accessible by moderately-sized telescopes.

The book also contains hundreds of deep sky objects, several charts of selected star clusters and their doubles, and a section on light pollution with sky darkness estimation charts. All charts are in full color, indicating the spectral class of each star, with doubles color coded for quality and brightness.

Cross-references to the SAO, HIP and Gaia DR2 catalogs are provided for the doubles.

Amazingly worthy addition to your library

This is a wonderful book that is simply yet beautifully presented. A great addition to a library that features even the Cambridge double star atlas.
If you appreciate notes on star colours this book is for you.

My favorite double star resource

Of all the double star resources I have experince with, this is now my favorite. The layout is excellent, with a map (with finder circles) on one page, and a double star list on the other. Highly recommended.
