10 Micron AZ 1000 HPS Mount

The AZ1000 HPS is an altazimuth mount based on the mechanics of the GM1000 HPS. 

It is a very versatile, lightweight and transportable mount for research purposes, perfect for satellite tracking, photometric and astrometric measurements, seeing monitoring and much more.

Due to the azimuth design, an optional field rotator (ASCOM compatible) is required for astrophotography to achieve long exposure times without field rotation.

The standard version comes with a short counterweight bar. It is unnecessary to precisely balance the telescope's weight: counterweights for approximately 50% of your payload will give you a sufficiently stable configuration. Most of the GM1000 HPS accessories are compatible with the new AZ1000 HPS.

Solar Observer version

The standard version of this mount is black-anodised, but a silver-anodised version is also available for solar observers and photographers. The silver-anodised finish ensures the mount remains cool to the touch, even after several hours in sunlight. Thanks to the short exposure times in solar photography, AZ tracking mount works well for most applications. A quick 3-star alignment at night is sufficient to set up the mount accurately.
