About this product

Model:  cel_torch_93588
Part Number:  93588-CGL

Use a red-light torch to maintain your night vision when observing.

This no-nonsense red-light torch uses two red LED's for an even illumination.

The brightness can be adjusted with an easy-to-use thumbwheel and the square body prevents it rolling off the table in the dark.

Powered by 1x 9v battery (included).

A red-light torch is one of the most useful accessories you can own as an amateur astronomer and is essential at a Star Party where the use of red-light is considered good etiquette.

The red light enables you to see your star charts, find an eyepiece or step over telescope cables without affecting your night vision. The better your night vision, the more you can see in the eyepiece.

The problem is when you come to change the battery. Very difficult to get out without destroying the whole thing as it is very flimsy.

Expected better from Celestron. Poor light output and expensive PP9 battery to replace. Buying a Poundland cycle rear lamp would be more use and better value.

nothing remarkable about this torch.quite small in size using two led bulbs that can be dimmed or brightened.to add new batteries (supplied) the front and circuit board have to be pulled out...yes there are better and cheaper but for a tenner it does whats needed
