About this product
Part Number: ASI120MINI
Compatible with the new ZWO ASiair
The ASI120MM Mini is a very capable guide camera that can handle most setups with ease, including most OAG configurations.
Peak QE of 75% (better than the ICX618) and no Fixed-Pattern-Noise!
Supports 35 FPS at it's maximum 1280 x 960 resolution and long time exposures up to 1000s!
Compared to ICX618 based cameras the ZWO ASI120MM offers faster frame-rate, slightly higher sensitivity in visual light and more pixels for lunar imaging.
The sensor is protected by an anti-reflection clear optical window. If imaging the Moon or planets we recommend fitting a 1.25" UV/IR rejection filter.
The ASI120MM’s mono sensor can also be used with specialised UV or methane band filters, as well as infrared passing filters for lunar and planetary imaging (i.e. Baader IR-Pass, Red and Orange visual filters). IR-passing filters cut short wavelengths which prevents atmospheric dispersion softening the image.
Note: The ASI120MM has a Micron sensor which might produce Newton Rings when used with solar telescopes. (Cameras fitted with Sony sensors are better in these circumstances).

ASI120MM Mini Astrophotography Performance
The ASI120 mini camera offers very good performance for planetary imaging and guiding. Low read noise, high dynamic range, QE peak 75%, AR protective window and much more.
ASI120MM Mini QE Curve
Absolute QE Curve, we estimate the Peak Value is over 75%.
ASI120MM Mini vs ASI120MM-S
Compared with the ASI120MM-S camera, the ASI120mini is smaller, lighter weight, and it can reach focus at the same position as an eyepiece.
USB2.0 & ST4 Ports
USB 2.0 Port: The mini camera has one USB2.0 type C port. Type C is very popular in mobile phones and it is reversible so it doesn't matter which way around you insert the plug.
ST4 Port: To connect directly to a mounts auto guide port.

Purchased things after many reviews online and the 120mm is everything you want. Quality product, easy to set up and easy to use. The service and delivery time from First Light Optics was its usual high standard.
Very clean image - great for guiding

Arrived the day after ordering - FLO really excelled this time. I was a bit unsure how to set the camera up in INDI since my imaging camera is from ZWO too, but once I'd figured it out, it has worked flawlessly. But most importantly, the images produced are really low noise and it makes for a great guiding camera - PHD2 can pick out multiple stars for the multi-star guiding and I'm getting sub-arc second guiding on my AZ-EQ5GT / SharpStar 15028HNT on the first night out after just a quick calibration. I'll probably look to replace the guide camera on my obsy's EQ6R-Pro with an ASI120MM in the future. The only thing that would improve this camera would be the inclusion of a 1 1/4" parafocal ring so that you keep focus more easily after removing the camera for whatever reason, so I'll be getting one when they are back in stock.
You can't go wrong with this one

Great guide cam. It's simple and effective! It pairs well with my WO 32mm Uniguide scope.
Achieving focus is easy and can be done using the camera's native app. For first time use, I focused it during the day while holding the guide scope in my hand and read the graduated index on my guide scope. Using that as a beginning point, I was able to fine-tune the focus while mounted during the night. Now for daily use, I have the final reading on the guide scope, so I can quickly set it up.
Application support is great. Besides PHD2, I also use it with SharpCap Pro for polar alignment.
Service from FLO and their delivery partner was amazing. Ordered from India, and received on the 4th day!

Bought as a guide cam to use with my ASI Air Pro and ZWO guidescope which were all bought from FLO.
Great camera and ideal for guiding. Easy to focus with the 30mm guide scope and the additional extenders in the box help with back focus.
The normal great dispatch time and excellent service you get from FLO. Long may it continue and hopefully stock levels of astronomy equipment will get better as time goes on. Iíve been after an HEQ5 pro for a while now.
Works well - even not for the intended purpose

Got this to build a GuideScope using the default Finder provided by Celestron on a lot of their range,
Not fully setup as yet to use as a proper guider, but a combination of the right adapter and the kit provided by ZWO in the package have already made a better.
As i know have a digital finder by hooking directly up to my phone. Works a treat and you can flip the images so they are the right way up and around etc...
Cant wait to use it properly.

FLO recommended this to us to go with the William Optics 50mm Uniscope as a guide scope. Have been using it for polar aligning in the southern hemisphere and the results have been amazing. Will use it for a guide scope one our main telescope arrives.
The camera was super simple to setup and run though the ZWO supplied software - we had it going in less than five minutes (and we are as new as they come to all this technology). Had no problem connecting it to SharpCap for polar alignment and to APT for taking some photos.
All in all this is a great product being used on a guide scope and for the price it is a simple and cost effective solution - especially for those starting out.
As for FLO - I have been spending months firing questions back and forth about how best for my son to get into astrophography and they have been nothing but amazingly helpful. Order was place and shipped within 24 hours and arrived to New Zealand within two weeks (after being stuck in our customs for a week). Package arrived well wrapped and protected and the experience buying from FLO has just been awesome ... have already placed orders for more equipment with them - keep up the amazing work

I'm planning to use it as a guide cam, but still waiting for the RPI4. The delivery was fast from the UK to Hungary, considering the UK is not EU anymore. When everything is in backorder everywhere in the World, FLO has it anyway!

Due to weather conditions I have been unable to try out this camera. However I wish to comment on the fantastic service from FLO. I ordered this item at around 10:00 hrs, it arrived less than 23hrs later at my home on the North coast of Scotland having travelled the entire length of the UK well done FLO and Post Office service.
A great camera for Guiding

I was using a Orion StarShoot Magnificent Mini AutoGuider Package. SSAG + Mini 50mm Guidescope for Guiding on my Star Adventurer mount, along with my Nikon Z6 for imaging.
I recently bought an ASIair controller and this would not work with the Orion camera.
So I bought this ASI 120MM Mini camera to use instead.
It is pretty small, light and fitted into the Orion Guidescope perfectly. All the camera and most of the nose tube are out of the scope to focus.
The ASIair recognised the Mini immediately and after focusing, the guiding worked very well.
I have been using a 300mm f/4 PF lens and may try the 1.4 x TC which may or may not be too long.
The camera is great, easy to use and light.
FLO sent it immediately and I am very happy with everything.
