The ClickLock mechanics have already been tried and trusted with Baader's earlier 1.25" model. The larger 2" ClickLock series is even better! 

 


Features of the Baader 2-inch ClickLock System

  • Even a 20 degree rotation of the rotary lever sufficient enough to firmly and safely secure any 2” accessory.
  • The heaviest tested load is a complete C14 telescope with bolt-SCL terminal (# 2956233) and a 2 "Click Lock diagonal (# 2926100) with Scopos 30mm Ultra eyepieces (# 3004030) shown in the photo. The C14 was raised by holding the eyepiece! (We don't recommend this, please don't try it). 
  • Ratchet function - shows acoustic and haptic display of the position of the clamp. You’ll be able to recognise even in the dark and without examination if the terminal is open or closed.
  • Massive clamp (tension ring) holds  even the most expensive accessories absolutely safe and free of scratches and bruises.
  • CL-terminals - available for many telescope systems. Extensive range of clips allows the retrofitting of the Baader 2” ClickLock-clamping on many telescopes (or accessories). (More ClickLock terminals for Vixen and other branded telescopes are in preparation)
  • The position of the rotary lever is adjustable by 6 camera-head screws, or by 6 Allen keys; with the help of these the CL terminal can be set for left-handed operation as an option.

This is well made, feels like a good quality product, grips my diagonals and DSLR firmly, even at the zenith.
I did have to exercise the mechanism a bit on first receipt as when turning the barrel to release the diagonal it started to unscrew itself from the SCT, it has done it a few times since but it is now much better, overall a very good product.

Not used a ClickLock before and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Very good quality, smooth in operation, incredible grip what more could you ask for? Was so impressed that I have decided to upgrade my other scopes to these too now!

I'm using this to attach my 1.4kg Canon EOS 1DX mk3 body to my Celestron SCT - and it absolutely does the job. It screws firmly onto the OTA (and/or reducer lens if that's attached too), and 2" connector socket of the matched protective T-ring slides smoothly inside from the other end, the grip needs less than a quarter of a turn to lock absolutely solidly, it does not move even upside down. As advertised on the Baader site where it carries the weight of an entire OTA, it is extremely strong and grips all around the ring, not just with a couple of thumb-screw points. Strongly recommend.

Im building up the kit for a C11. The 2" Baader clicklock was the best way forward. It works great. As usual the FLO purchase was was swift and well packaged.

Overall the main impression is that this is well made. It is solid and secure and will, I think, mean that I will give up my SCT fitting diagonal and just fit my better quality 2" version using this clamp. Only niggle: the Allen key is a VERY tight fit in the grub screws, but you only need to use them once!

I have found this easy to use and worked with William Optics 2" Dielectric Diagonal out the box, makes setting up and adjusting so much easier.

Q1. How does the Baader Click-Lock 2" for Celestron & Meade SCT attach to my telescope?

On the rear of your telescope there is a thread that the click-lock adapter will screw into. This thread will currently have your visual back (which holds the diagonal) screwed into it, simply unscrew this to reveal the thread.
