About this product

Model:  baader-2956220
Part Number:  2956220

Screws directly to SCT telescopes with a standard 2" threaded back such as the Meade 8" and the Celestron 8" and 9 1/4".

Once you start using the Baader Baader ClickLock Terminal you’ll never want to go back…

The ClickLock mechanics have already been tried and trusted with Baader's earlier 1.25" model. The larger 2" ClickLock series is even better!

Features of the Baader 2-inch ClickLock System

  • Even a 20 degree rotation of the rotary lever sufficient enough to firmly and safely secure any 2” accessory.
  • The heaviest tested load is a complete C14 telescope with bolt-SCL terminal (# 2956233) and a 2 "Click Lock diagonal (# 2926100) with Scopos 30mm Ultra eyepieces (# 3004030) shown in the photo. The C14 was raised by holding the eyepiece! (We don't recommend this, please don't try it).
  • Ratchet function - shows acoustic and haptic display of the position of the clamp. You’ll be able to recognise even in the dark and without examination if the terminal is open or closed.
  • Massive clamp (tension ring) holds  even the most expensive accessories absolutely safe and free of scratches and bruises.
  • CL-terminals - available for many telescope systems. Extensive range of clips allows the retrofitting of the Baader 2” ClickLock-clamping on many telescopes (or accessories). (More ClickLock terminals for Vixen and other branded telescopes are in preparation)
  • The position of the rotary lever is adjustable by 6 camera-head screws, or by 6 Allen keys; with the help of these the CL terminal can be set for left-handed operation as an option.

Baader Click-Lock 2 for Celestron & Meade SCT

Great investment! Perfect for my Edge HD 8". The Baader clicklock 1.25 to 2" conversion adapter keeps my heavy dielectric diagonal and 2" eyepiece safely intact. Also looking at the Baader 2" clicklock diagonal as a future investment.

Great Accessary

This grips a 2in star diagonal really well, plus enables the diagonal to be swapped over quickly and safely in the dark for a camera adaptor utilising a 2in Baader Nosepiece, much better than using a standard T thread adaptor.

Brilliant Device

I recently bought the Baader 2" Quicklock after I had problems with the suppled visual back that came with my scope. A couple of months ago while outside observing the little knurled screw that holds the diagonal in place worked loose and the diagonal and brand new Hyperion eyepiece fell out. Luckily onto soft grass, so no damage was done. I was concerned that it might happen again though. That is when I found out about the Baader Quicklock. I was looking for a 2" one as I felt that I wanted to push my scope a little more (C 9.25) by having the option of using 2" eyepieces. Well it arrived last week along with a Williams Optics 2" Carbon Dielectric diagonal and Hyperion Aspheric 36mm ep. And what a fantastic piece of kit the Quicklock is. So easy to fit and use. The way it grips the diagonal without damaging it is a very clever, but simple idea with the collar gripping the nosepiece of my diagonal right around it instead of just at one point with a screw gouging into the metal. No more worries about anything falling out again.
So in summary. Would I recommend the Baader Quicklock???? Hell yes!!!

Your Question:

Q1. How does the Baader Click-Lock 2" for Celestron & Meade SCT attach to my telescope?

On the rear of your telescope there is a thread that the click-lock adapter will screw into. This thread will currently have your visual back (which holds the diagonal) screwed into it, simply unscrew this to reveal the thread.
