About this product
Ocal 3 Max Electronic Collimator
Following their first, second and third-generation models, this new 3.0 MAX model is their highest-performing collimator.
The Ocal 3 Max has the following enhancements:
Ocala has improved the camera module assembly. The new assembly has an average tilt deviation <10′, significantly reducing the error demonstrated in Figures 2, 3, and 4 below.
2) Ocal have also made significant changes in the design of their metal casing, with a focus on limiting slots and separating the camera module from the PCB for higher accuracy.
NOTE 1: The Ocal 3 MAX collimator must use the latest software version. The software operation and tutorial content have remained the same.
NOTE 2: Ocal suggests owners of telescopes with shorter focal lengths and longer focal ratios will find their earlier second and third-generation Ocal collimators are sufficient.

Just received the OCAl 3 Max Collimator and the 2"x24 adaptor ring to suit the Meade great service especially from Barry at FLO prior to purchase, 1st class customer service thank you.
Completed the collimation which was slightly out but rectified within minutes.
No written documentation but the videos on YouTube especially Ocals own video (if you can ignore the bird chirping) which I used for the Schmidt are excellent and straightforward to follow..
Hardest part is identifying the various circles in the tube which the camera shows you.
A must is to use a white background over the end of the scope, I used a white plastic sheet.
Along with Bobs Knobs it really is a very simple exercise even for an old pensioner like me haha.
I haven't investigated further but I don't like the 16:9 (?) format that the camera gives so when you zoom out the image you have to move it up and down?.....it should be 1:1
Since tested it on artificial stars and the donuts are perfectly concentric.......amazing piece of gear

First light optics were excellent in their service, the device itself is well made and certainly useful for collimating a fast reflector but the instructions could do with a little more detail however especially when trying to set it for an Android but I figured it out

Collimate your Isaac in minutes instead of Hours with this excellent item. Far more accurate than just a Lazer & Cheshire alone. A little involved regarding computer control, but if you can point and click you will Ace it. Thank you again to the FLO Team for exceptional Customer service, expert advice and rapid shipment.
