Our BEST 12v / 5A Mains Power Supply!
A medical grade PSU that delivers smooth, dependable, low noise power. Even at sub-zero temperatures.
Regular power supplies with 12V nominal voltage are designed for indoor use, when used outside in the cold their voltage drops (at -10°C the voltage output may reduce to only 10.5 V). This reduction in voltage can cause a mount’s motors to behave erratically. Indeed most apparent faults with modern mounts can be traced to an inadequate power supply.
Suitable for use with most modern computerised GOTO mounts with power requirements up to 5 Amps, including the Skywatcher AZ-GOTO, AZ-GTi, HEQ5, NEQ6, and EQ8 (with optional adapter) and Celestron SLT, SE, Evolution, CGEM, CGEM DX, CGE Pro, CPC, CPC Deluxe, CGEM II, CGX and Advanced VX mounts.
Note this power supply has a fully enclosed plastic casing but should not be used in wet conditions.
Supplied with a 2m, 3-pin UK-type C13 plug.
Total cable length 2.9m.

Lynx 12v dc 5a power supply 05 February 2023 | Malcolm
Tried it to make sure it worked, but no use with our weather at the min. My astro gear is in hibernation. Great service from flo though.
Nice power supply but stiff cable. 18 September 2022 | Andy
This appears to be a very well made power supply. Up to now, I have just used it to power my HEQ5 Pro and it works fine - I have some more kit on the way but I'm sure that its more than up to the task. After unplugging it the green LED stays on for some time which I would guess is due to a beefy smoothing capacitor, which again is a good sign. The only problem is the rather stiff captive DC power lead and not particularly great plug. In my mount I have to be careful with cable management as it pulls on the (rather wobbly) mount socket and can easily come out. Either a more flexible cable or an L shaped plug would have been better. I have bought one of Lynx Astros excellent silicone leads and some female-female connectors and am going to wind up the captive cable and use the silicone one up to the mount instead. This has a far more secure connection to the DC socket and is very flexible so doesn't tug at all. All that adds £20 to the cost though. You'll be fine with the stock one if you carefully cable manage.

A relatively small, but so so useful addition to the growing collection of accessories ... and it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

The power supply works fine, in that it supplies adequate power to my new Celestron VX mount. However, the connection to the socket on the mount is not really up to the job. The slightest movement of the plug and the connection is lost, which means having to go through the setup and alignment routine again. The problem seems to be that the plug, although it clicks on insertion, does not go in far enough and remains very wobbly; there is no ring on the plug, unlike the car battery connector cable supplied with the mount, which enables you to screw the plug on to the socket. If you accidentally brush against it you lose your power. So, if you want a mains power supply for your VX mount, make sure you get one with a screw locking ring on the plug to hold it in place

I bought this supply to replace an old one that was causing interference problems with my Lynx Astro EQDIR cable and AZ-GTi mount. I'm glad to say it has done the job, good quality supply and the mains cable is reasonably long making it easier to use with a mount than some cheap brands that have very short cables.

It is an excellent AC power supply for my NEQ6 mount . I have not had any problems with this item

FLO advised us to buy this to power the ASIair Pro and so far it works well. The ASIair pro does get a little hotter with this supply than another that we use with a different telescope but we are sure this will be a better supply when we add other peripheries such as dew heaters etc
