About this product

Model:  bst_sg_25
Part Number:  SP10856

BST StarGuider ED eyepieces offer remarkably high performance-per-£!

Features include two ED glass elements and fully multicoated edge-blackened optics for excellent colour, enhanced contrast, high light transmission and minimal ghosting.

The six-element / four-group design minimises field curvature for a nice flat field, even when used with telescope f-ratios as low as f5.

Modern twist-up eyecups, 16mm eye relief and 21mm diameter eye-lens make them comfortable to use, even when wearing eyeglasses.

The tactile rubber grip and milled indentations make them easy to handle in the dark.

The 1.25“ nosepiece accepts 1.25" astronomy filters and has a machined safety undercut, so the eyepiece is less likely to slip out of the focuser.

FEATURES

  • Two ED glass elements minimise chromatic aberration.
  • All air-to-glass surfaces are fully multicoated for high contrast, high light transmission and minimal ghosting.

BST StarGuider 25mm ED Eyepiece
09 May 2023  |

Bought this as a birthday present. Checked it out by comparing with my Tele View 26mm Plossl. It is much better and cheaper and I'm thinking of buying one for myself as a replacement.

this a good purchase

bought this on the recommendation of the ever helpful support at FLO. It is so much better than what I had before. It's comfortable to use and the quality to what I now see is very good.

Starguider 25mm ED eyepiece
29 March 2022  |

I bought this one for my daughter's Celestron 102 Starsense Explorer refractor to replace the standard issue eyepiece.....what a difference! The idea was to just make viewing easier and more pleasurable for a science mad 10 year old and this eyepiece is just so much nicer to view through. Nice and sharp with a wider view and the best bit for her being that she doesn't now have to squint through a pin hole! Well made piece of kit and certainly worth the money.

Reasonably priced upgrade to stock lens - very happy with field of view.
FLO of course provided great service and replaced the initial one sent which had a manufacturing issue on the thread with no quibbles

Great Qaulity Eyepieces
05 January 2022  |

Very impressed with this line of eyepieces. The 25mm is exactly what I was looking for with it's wide field of view - perfect for star hopping and for taking in wonderful wide views. On my fast scope (f5) there is a noticeable beginning of coma around the outer 20% of the view but nothing serious and it doesn't take away from the experience at all.

Very happy with the purchase!

BST Starguider Ed 25mm
30 November 2021  |

Well put together eyepiece that gives a decently corrected image on axis and out to about 80% of the field. This size of 25mm is more suited to slower scopes Comfortable twist up eyecup. This range of eyepieces are a very good stepping stone from the ones supplied with most telescopes

Worthwhile upgrade over stock eyepiece
22 September 2021  |

Recommended as a first purchase after buying my scope. I consider this a worthwhile improvement over the stock eyepiece which shipped with my telescope. decent viewing angle and very sharp.

My first upgrade.
08 February 2021  |

I bought this eyepiece as an upgrade for Celestron 76mm Firstscope Robert Reeves edition.
I emailed FLO and asked what eyepiece they recommend as an upgrade for scope.

The eyepiece is well worth the money. The 60° field of view makes it feel like you're looking out of spaceship window.
The weight and feel of the eyepiece are a mark of its quality. I will buy another one.

Q1. But aren't these the same as ........ ?

Probably... BST (BarSTa) Starguider ED eyepieces are available under a number of brands but we source them with their original factory name.

Q2. Are these noticably better than the 10 & 20mm eyepieces supplied with my telescope?

Yes. Definitely :-)
