I've had one of these for a while now. Initially I was very disappointed because the insides rattled about and the connection inside was very intermittent. In addition it was almost impossible to switch on the red lights. Eventually I took it apart to see what was wrong with it. The problem turned out to be the casing and not the electrics. Part of the hole where the white/red led switch is located had not been fully removed, and the little circuit board couldn’t be fixed into its proper location. After removing the little bit of plastic from the hole with a sharp knife, the circuit board went into its correct place. Now the light is steady, and the red and white leds switch easily as it should do. Looking at the other reviews it seems to be a general problem. It is a pity because it would be an easy thing to correct.
Pros - compact size, easy controls, adjustable brightness.Cons - Easily turned on by moving in a bag (as I found out ), you can feel the circuit board move while switching between white and red light, Need to remove 3 screws to change battery. Unfortunately I can't speak for the battery life of the product as mine seems to have become switch on while in a suitcase. Bottom line is, it does as advertised but you can probably find a better product for the same price.
For the price of it, you don't get much, build quality is poor, feels light. Switches can sometimes be intermittent if you accidently move the circuit board(which is easily done) by changing between red/white, if you put the brightness on full it often fully turns off/goes really dim so you have to do it about 99% on for the full brightness
These are not rechargeable, instead they contain a standard 9v battery which can be replaced by undoing the three screws on the side of the torch.
